Since its beginnings as a local gathering spot over 20 years ago, Mustards
Grill
has blossomed into a destination for all who appreciate memorable food, superb
wines and a warm welcome. Mustards' food is Chef/Owner Cindy Pawlcyn's
mix of American regional dishes with global influences. The list of “Way
Too Many Wines” represents the best from appellations throughout California
and the New World.
Mustards is an American Grill, featuring flavors from around the globe. The
wood-burning grill produces such favorites as Cindy's famous Mongolian Pork
Chop, chipotle –rubbed Quail, and the ½ pound Niman Ranch hamburger. The
oakwood smoker fills the restaurant with aromas of BBQ baby back ribs and tea-smoked
Peking duck. Specialties include Seared Ahi Tuna on sesame crackers
and Crispy Calamari tossed with curried slaw. The eclectic wine list
features hard to find gems from California, the American Northwest, South America,
Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and most recently, India.
There is a garden on the south side of the restaurant where much of the produce
found on the menu is cultivated. A small patio at the entrance is the
perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail while watching the “who's
who” of the Napa Valley discuss the coming grape harvest. Once inside,
Mustards Grill has a lively atmosphere that inspires the appetite. Local
wine writer Bob Thompson said it best, “They sure know how to throw a party.”
Mustards Grill is located just north of Napa, between the cities of Yountville
and Oakville. Walk-ins and reservations are happily accepted!

Mustards was a super place for our group of 8 to have a fun lunch. We had a really cool waitress who made some good suggestions. It was a crowded but congenial atmosphere. Food was great! |

Good Food, the waitress was really nice, we came early like 11:30 a.m. and got a great seat. If you come too late it will get packed fast. Pumpkin Sout excellent, Pumpkin bread pudding and coffee good and ask for a la mode vanilla. My wife said she liked the pork chop, but I think the other dishes are great too. Just cause the pork chop got good reviews don't let that stop you from getting the other ones.
I had an the half crab legs with bbq sauce. I was wondering why the portion was so small. It was an appitizer. I didn't know that until I overheard her telling the people in back of me. People seemed to be in good spirits. After dinner go see Gregory at the winery next door and make sure you try the CigarZin. It is out of this world. |

High prices for small portions, wait to get in and rushed to get you out. Locals recommend Brix across the street |
| Great pulled pork BBQ |

Ok, I am a HUGE LOVER of all things BBQ with pulled pork at the top. I read about the pulled pork sandwich under Jim's favorites and had to go. Then we almost didn't go because it was so hyped up I thought that to go would mean sure disappointment now after such a build up. We went, I got it, I was not disappointed! It had just enough sauce for great moisture and flavor but didn't overpower the smoked flavor of the meat. I was glad they put slaw on the side cuz I'm more KC style and don't like it wet. We would go back for this again! (My husband had the Ono tostada and thought it was great, not your ordinary tostada!) |

The moment we sat down the waitress claimed they had the best bloody marys in the valley - we told her to prove it and she did - YUM! It had a small beer chaser on the side! We laughed throughout lunch and no one shushed us and then ate the best cheeseburgers ever grilled with the thinnest crispiest onion rings that melted in our mouths. Don't miss! |

This has become a standard place to eat when visiting the valley. Never a surprise, always consistent. Fun place. |
