Hands down, the best in this north valley hamlet. It also houses our favorite Bar in Napa Valley, too. Nothing beats sitting on stools 10 and 11, which round the southern bar corner, enabling two to talk and eat while sort-of facing one another. Don't bother to ask for these bar seats - we've got first dibs on them!
This is as Tuscan as it gets in Napa Valley. On-site managing partner Kevin Cronin has done a great job keeping this restaurant in top form over the years. This is where the locals meet and eat.
Don't miss the braised rabbit ragu with house-made pappardelle, (it's tied with the trenne and braised lamb at Bistro Don Giovanni as Best Pasta in Napa Valley). We have probably had it more than 30 times. We complained loudly when they took it off the menu; it's back so you can thank ilovenapa.com for your rabbit epiphany.
Wash it down with a gorgeous Italian Nebbiolo-based wine, a striking Sangiovese-based red from Tuscany, or a youthful Zinfandel.
Depending on the time of year, desserts go from good to awesome, the single most riveting being a summer berry shortcake that is drizzled with a sugar-vinegared syrup that will make you place a second order. Honest, we've done this.
