Hands down, this takes the prize for sheer, breezy, customer glee. Now in it's 20th year of bringing pleasure to the valley. The classics run longer than the Yountville phone book; don't even think of passing up the Crispy Calamari with Curried Slaw or the Crab Cakes as appetizers; we love the daily-changing grilled fish specials and the ultimate pork pleasure is served here, called the Mongolian Pork Chop.
The Hanger Steak with Watercress Sauce is a cause-celebre (and just happens to be the single best steak item in the valley!) and we have never, ever heard a discouraging word about the Half-Slab BBQ Baby Back Ribs, which they've been serving since the grill opened.
Of special note: The Ahi Tuna Sandwich and the Slow-Smoked BBQ Pork Sandwich are in the pantheon of All-Time Great Napa Valley Dishes.
If we were asked to select items for a time capsule — that wouldn't be opened until 3000 — with examples of our personal favorite foods of our era and of our valley, BOTH OF THESE SANDWICHES WOULD BE IN IT!
